With a coaching career spanning three decades, Gus Culver is a decorated leader in Southern California volleyball. Since 2004, he has led programs at Mission Viejo, Dana Hills, and El Toro High School to numerous league titles and a CIF Championship. His elite resume includes five club National Championships and multiple "Coach of the Year" honors. Currently a teacher at El Toro and a boys club coach at Balboa Bay Volleyball Club, Coach Culver lives in Mission Viejo with his wife and two sons.
Dan enters another season of coaching following a standout four-year career as a player and captain at El Toro High School (Class of 2023). After helping guide the Boys' Program to their first CIF championship in 2025, he now serves as the Varsity Head Coach. Off the court, Dan is a Kinesiology student at Cal State Long Beach with aspirations of becoming a physical therapist. His goal is to bridge the gap between competitive athletics and professional wellness.
Coach Julia is a cornerstone of the Chargers' volleyball community since 2019. With a coaching resume that includes two CIF Championships and multiple league titles since her arrival, Julia has served as both Frosh Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach. As former coach at Dana Hills alongside Coach Culver, she also brings her elite training background to TStreet Volleyball Club, working with athletes ages 13–17.
Sean is currently leading Aliso Niguel High School boys' program as Varsity Head Coach, while simultaneously coaching at El Toro for the girls’ volleyball program. He makes the move to Aliso Niguel following a historic three-year tenure at El Toro, where he led the boys' team to their first-ever CIF Championship in 2025. His leadership earned him the CIF-SS Division 6 Coach of the Year honors.
Kalea returns to her alma mater as a coach following a standout career at El Toro High School (Class of 2025). A three-year varsity starter at middle blocker, Kalea was instrumental in securing the 2022 Sea View League title and leading the Chargers through deep CIF runs in 2023 and 2024. A former team captain and First Team All-League honoree, her impact extended to the sand as well; she was a member of the inaugural beach volleyball team and made history as part of the first pair in program history to qualify for CIF.
Currently studying Criminal Justice at Irvine Valley College, Kalea plans to transfer to UC Irvine to pursue a career as a police detective. She is thrilled to transition from player to coach, sharing her deep passion for the game with the next generation of El Toro athletes.
