The El Toro Girls Volleyball program is a pillar of the Lake Forest athletic community. Competing in the CIF Southern Section and the Sea View League, we offer a competitive environment across four distinct levels: Varsity, Junior Varsity, Frosh/Soph, and Freshman B. This tiered structure ensures that every athlete—from the elite senior to the developing freshman—receives the coaching and court time necessary to reach their full potential.
Our "Charger Family" Philosophy
At El Toro, we believe that volleyball is a vehicle for character development. Our program is built on the Charger Student Learning Outcomes, focusing on:
Integrity & Respect: We compete with honor, respecting our opponents, officials, and the game itself.
Service Before Self: Our athletes are encouraged to be "Engaged Citizens" who contribute to their community through teamwork and compassion.
Resilience: We train our players to be "Thoughtful Problem Solvers," using the challenges of the sport to build perseverance and adaptability.
El Toro Volleyball has a long-standing tradition of success in Orange County.
Proven Track Record: The program consistently qualifies for the CIF-SS Championships, most recently competing in Division 5, where the team is known for its discipline and high-energy style of play.
Developmental Pipeline: With a coaching staff led by Gus Culver, we prioritize technical fundamentals and "volleyball IQ" at the lower levels to ensure a seamless transition to the high-stakes Varsity environment.
Academic Commitment: Our athletes are students first. Many of our Varisty players earn high academic honors and receive scholar athlete recognition with well over 3.75 GPA.
Facilities & Training
Home matches are played in the historic El Toro High School Gymnasium, an environment famous for its spirited "Charger Blue" atmosphere.
Year-Round Growth: Beyond the fall season, the program offers summer camps and strength-training programs designed to keep athletes healthy and improving year-round.
Holistic Wellness: We emphasize physical and mental health, encouraging our players to become "Healthy Individuals" who understand the balance between rigorous athletics and personal well-being.
